"Anderson has been a superb partner. They've brought forward a site at Erith that no one thought would be developed. It’s fantastic to see what it will deliver for the community."
Cllr Teresa O'Neill OBE, Leader, London Borough of Bexley
Having secured planning consent in 2015, Anderson is working in conjunction with London & Quadrant to deliver The Quarry: an ambitious development of over 600 architecturally-innovative new homes, a state-of-the-art primary school for 630 children and a 12-acre ecology centre.
The development is breathing new life into the disused 50-acre Erith Quarry site that had lain neglected for over 30 years. Anderson’s proposed plans will ensure that over 35% of the development will be dedicated as public open space on what was previously an inaccessible, private site.
The scheme is currently being transformed into a new collection of one, two, three and four bedroom homes, released across several phases. The first 95 homes were handed over to their new owners in November 2018.
Although in its early stages, the project has already won numerous prestigious industry awards, including the ‘Regeneration Project of the Year’ gong at both the First Time Buyers Awards and the London Construction Awards.
The Quarry also won ‘Marketing Initiative of the Year’ at the House Building Awards in December 2018, while the planned primary school was nominated in the ‘Unbuilt Education’ category at the New London Awards.
