Anderson lands two nods at New London Awards
06 June 2019
Two Anderson projects were shortlisted today (6 June) for the upcoming New London Awards.
Carpenters Wharf, a collection of 44 high-specification apartments alongside a leading artists studio and gallery space in Hackney Wick, has been shortlisted in the ‘Mixed-Use’ Category, while Anderson’s flagship scheme at Erith Quarry, which will feature a state-of-the-art primary school, was shortlisted in the ‘Unbuilt Education’ category.
Carpenters Wharf’s design, which pays testament to the industrial heritage of the site itself and the surrounding area, was the product of a collaboration with industry-renowned architects, Studio Egret West. The artist studios and gallery space will be provided rent-free to aspiring artists through Anderson’s in-house charity, The Anderson Foundation. This shortlisting follows on from success of one win and one nomination for the development at the 2018 Housebuilder and London Construction Awards.
The vast Erith Quarry development, a joint venture with L&Q, will see the delivery of 600 private and affordable homes, the above mentioned three-form-of-entry primary school and a 12-acre eco-centre.
The winners of the New London Awards will be announced on Wednesday 3 July.
